New Year. Elevated You. How 2025 Can Be The Year You Step Out of Your Comfort Zone and Into Greatness.

In my previous blog post, I shared that my word for 2025 is DARE. It is defines as such:

Dare. Verb.

-Have the courage to do something; to defy or challenge (someone) to do something; take the risk of; brave.

Noun: a challenge, especially to prove courage.

New Oxford American Dictionary

I thought it was the perfect word for next year, as I have several goals written out that will push me past my comfort zones and test my limits.

Whatever you chose for your word, or if you didn't choose a word at all and just set your intentions.....no matter. I suspect that if you have made any goals for the upcoming months, you are ready to kick down the doors and excuses that have held you down so that you can leap into greatness.

At the very least, you are eager and excited and motivated to be an elevated you. Whatever your dreams are, you absolutely can achieve them. They will require effort and consistency on your part. It will be quite the challenge. Most importantly, it will be fun. There is nothing quite like discovering what you are made of after all of that hard work.

Get ready to step into your elevated self.

Embrace Uncertainty

You are not going to have everything figured out. Stepping outside of your comfort zone means that you will have to connect the dots for yourself. I used to say to friends "take the risk!" However, I once heard someone say that it is not so much a risk as it is a chance, one that could ultimately change your life. With that in mind, are you willing to embrace the unknown, take a chance and possibly change your life?

Face Your Fears

I believe fear is a spirit. It is not wrong to feel some trepidation and uneasiness when moving into something new. We all have and experience them. We ask ourselves questions like "What if I fail?" or "What if this doesn't look the way I had hoped?" All of that is possible. What you envision may not turn out quite as you had imagined, but that is okay. You won't know unless you take the first step. You are already living out your worst-case scenario. By facing your fears, what do you really have to lose?

Make Missteps and Failures Your Motivation

Fear and making mistakes along the way is part of life. You cannot escape it. No one is immune to the possibility of setbacks and disappointments. So, with all of that said, how will you choose to move forward through the it all? Use it as fuel. Allow the disappointments and the rejections educate you and use them as lessons to grow. Don't become bitter. Decide to be better!

Do Something Outside of What is Comfortable.

Have you ever heard the quote "A ship in a harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for." (John A. Shedd)? You may feel safe in the cozy bubble you have placed yourself, but sooner or later, that bubble can become your prison. You were made for so much more than just doing what is safe. If you want to grow, challenge your mindset and do something outside of your circle. That is where the magic happens.

Be You. Wholly, Un-chained, Awesome You.

This is a blog for women, so I am going to say this: Women ARE AMAZING! Picture me as your Elle Woods who is rooting you on from the side because she believes in you, even as she pushes herself to greatness. Allow yourself to be open, vulnerable, and take up space. What you have dreamed of your entire life is on the other side of fear. You are capable of so many things. I fully believe that God designed each of you specifically and with intention for doing good and making this world a better place than you found it. So much is possible, but you must get up and go.

Rooting you on and cheers to 2025!
