To my sisters who are going through a divorce, have gone through a divorce, or know someone who is going through a divorce.....come on in. Grab your favorite beverage and let's chat. Imagine we are sitting at a coffee shop or at our favorite restaurant for brunch or dinner. Mimosas or margaritas, anyone?
Sometimes, when life decides to kick us in the fanny, we need to connect with those who have been through it. I had never felt so alone until I went through my own divorce and I found that not many people could really relate, or even understand what I was going through. With the exception of my brother in law, who happens to be a family law attorney, our conversations regarding my divorce were mostly limited to my asking questions about what to really expect during the process and if I was being unreasonable in any way. Thankfully, he provided me a lot of support and resource without charge, as I could not afford an attorney. I do highly recommend you get one though. Trust me. Even if you think it will be easy. I should have asked for help financially and obtained one as it would have saved me a lot of stress in the long run.
So I decided to create my own network. I opened up a bit on my former blog and with my small group at church, as well as reading a ton of books about post divorce recovery from women who have walked the road. I found several things that really helped me take personal responsibility for what I could, and work to let go of what I did not need to concern myself with.
There is something magical and empowering that occurs when we walk alongside those on a similar path. There is no shame, at least there should be no shame, to be had about connecting with those who understand. Empathy can go a long way. So can a mindset shift.
Which is what I am currently creating for those of you who are looking to transform your mind and your life after divorce.
Introducing the DREAM AGAIN challenge: Designed for women who are experiencing or have experienced divorce and want to write their brand new chapter.
This will consist of a six week challenge that will include weekly zoom chats, journaling prompts and dream worksheets, and focus on topics that matter to you, especially as you walk through your divorce.
During our zoom chats, we will discuss and share what matters to us, our hangups and frustrations as well as encourage one another. Some topics to be discussed:
Co-Parenting
Forgiveness
Dating after divorce
Friendships/community
Emotional health
Physical health
Career/re-entry into the work force
Finances
And more!
First Challenge will kick off September 30th, limited to 10 women, and low cost. The goal over the course of six weeks is to leave you better, not bitter, and with an action plan with steps so you can go out and rebuild your beautiful life. Just because you are divorced does not mean you are less valuable and that your life should suck. There is beauty found from the ashes. Are you willing to look for it?
As I prepare this challenge (I am so excited!), I would love to hear from you! What are you struggling with specifically in your divorce? What questions do you have? What is your biggest concern? How are you reclaiming your power?
And biggest questions, will you be joining us? More details to come, including a link to sign up!
Rooting you on!
Your Dream BuildHer Bestie,
Tiffany Rhea
